The Mirae Ki Cho Hyung competition has long been regarded as one of the most prestigious events within United Mirae Kuk Sool (UMKS), and this year’s tournament at the UMKS Regional Martial Arts Invitational 2024 was no exception. This competition provided an opportunity for the best martial artists from each age group to showcase their mastery of the Mirae Ki Cho Hyung form, a foundation of Kuk Sool that emphasizes endurance, precision, fluidity, and focus.
A True Test of Skill
The finalists in the Mirae Ki Cho Hyung competition were the first-place winners from their respective age divisions during the general competition. After triumphing in their individual categories, they took to the gymnasium floor one last time—alone, under the spotlight, competing in front of not only their peers but an audience of martial artists in the stands.
Each finalist performed the form with the weight of expectation and excitement in the air. What made this moment even more special was that they were judged by none other than CSJKJN Sungjin Su, the Founder of United Mirae Kuk Sool. Competing in front of the founder himself added a layer of honor and pressure to this already prestigious event.
The crowd sat in silent anticipation, watching as the competitors performed, knowing that each movement was being carefully observed and evaluated. Every stance, strike, and turn had to be executed with perfection, as the competitors were tasked with delivering a flawless performance.
